A Small Countyin North China Turns into a Meccafor WinterSports Enthusiasts

Only a 3-hour-drive from Beijing, Chongli is a small county in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province. It became famous over-night after it was chosen to co-host the 2022 Winter Olympics with Beijing. Li Yuanliang, the technical director at Chongli’s Swiss Ski School China is teaching a skier how to improve her skills. Li spent the last two winters working in Zermatt, a popular ski destination in Switzerland. Now he’s back in China to teach more people how to ski.

After China won the bid for the Winter Olympics, many companies have taken an interest in skiing, which is very good for us. I hope to take part in the training courses offered by the International Ski Federation so I can start judging domestic ski competitions and ultimately try to get on the judging panel at the Winter Olympics.

Skiing and snowboarding are relatively new to China and most people are still beginners, but their passion is growing, no doubt in expectation of the upcoming Winter Olympics!

With four ski resorts already operating successfully, Chongli is a key destination for winter sports. The Genting Resort has been chosen as the location for freestyle skiing and snowboarding at the 2022 Winter Olympics, with existing trails and cable-carsthat make it an ideal location.

The quality of snow in Chongli is quite good with steep slopes and long trails, all of which make for a comfortable and smooth experience.
The facilities are pretty good and being able to experience the facilities before the Olympic athletes makes me feel even better.

Our existing trails already meet international standards, but we plan to make some changes to improve other facilities before the Olympics. These projects will start from next year and once they are done we will hold several test events.

In a strong effort to support the Olympic Agenda 2022, key hotels in Chongli will be brought up to international standards, plus a high-speed rail line, to be completed in only four and a half years, will make transportation easier,whisking competitors and spectators to Chongli from Beijing in only one hour.

The hotels and food in Chongli are excellent. In the future, a high-speed rail link from Beijing to Zhangjiakou will also make getting here easier.
While there is still a lot to do to get Chongli ready, but I’m sure it will be ready by 2022.

I’m a Chongli native and have witnessed the transformation of my hometown. With the growth of the ski industry, we now have four and five star hotels. In many ways it looks like a European ski village.

Chongli's ski season lasts for more than 150 days from the end of October to April and has amazing natural scenery. It is hoped that the 2022 Winter Olympic Games will help to promote winter sports more in China and promote a healthier lifestyle.
小城崇礼变身冰雪运动天堂

距离北京约三小时车程的河北省张家口市崇礼县，因与北京联合申办2022年冬奥会而一夜成名。在崇礼的这个滑雪场，瑞士滑雪学校中国分校的技术总监李元亮正在教一名学生如何提升滑雪技巧。在过去的两个雪季，李元亮一直在瑞士著名的滑雪胜地采尔马特做滑雪教练。如今，他回到中国就是想让更多的中国人爱上滑雪。

中国申办冬奥成功之后，就会有很多企业关注到滑雪行业，使得这个行业有了更多的机会。我希望能够在这几年参与到FIS就是国际滑雪协会的裁判的培训当中，通过考核认证，并且去参加国内的一些比赛的裁判经历，逐步使自己能够在奥运的时候，争取能够参与到奥运会上。

无论是双板滑雪，还是单板滑雪，在中国都是相对新兴的运动，很多国人都是这些项目的初学者。可尽管如此，人们对滑雪的热情却是与日俱增，这与冬奥会的成功申办自然密不可分。

崇礼是中国北方一个重要的滑雪胜地，目前已拥有四座成功运营的大型滑雪场，其中的密苑云顶乐园凭借现有成熟的雪道和符合国际标准的缆车，被确认为2022年冬奥会自由式滑雪和单板滑雪的比赛场地。

我对这里的第一印象就是这里得天独厚的自然环境。当你一踏在雪上的时候，你会迫不及待的想要去滑雪，这跟我在瑞士的感觉是一样的。

首先就是崇礼这边雪的质量特别好；再有一个它这个雪道的落差比较大，雪道比较长，滑起来更爽，更顺畅。
这边的设备，我认为目前来说还是比较完善的，能够比奥运运动员先一步来体验，也是挺舒服的。

因为场地现在是现成的，已经够国际标准了，但会按照国际赛事标准，做一些简单的调整，增加一些辅助设施就可以了。改造设施从明年就要开始了，而且随着改造的完成，它每年也会承办一些赛事，进行场地测试。

为了配合2022年冬奥会，崇礼的各大酒店也在不断改造升级并逐步达到国际水准。同时，一条连接北京崇礼的高铁线路也将在未来4年半中建成，届时将使两地的交通更加便捷，人们乘坐高铁往返于北京和崇礼预计只在1小时以内。

除了滑雪以外，这边的住宿、餐饮、娱乐也是表现得相当出色的。以后还会有高铁，慢慢越来越完善，我们来这边玩也会更方便一些。
这边还在不断的建设中，我觉得2022年应该没有问题，还有很长的时间去准备。
