Li Nina, member of the 13th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Beijing Committee and China’s three-time freestyle skiing aerials world champion, shared her proposal of promoting the construction of dry ski resorts in Beijing and plan to perform her duty as a CPPCC member in the next five years during a talk show of Qianlong. com on January 27, 2018.
Li introduced that there are three advantages of constructing dry ski resorts in Beijing. First, it enables ski enthusiasts to play all year round; second, it can solve the difficulties of primary and middle school students in going to ski resorts as dry ski resorts will be built in downtown areas; third, it is environmentally friendly for the dry ski resorts don’t cost a large amount of water resources and electricity and they can be reused without damaging the environment.
“I hope it can attract more people to take part in ice and snow sports so as to help achieve the goal of having 300 million citizens involved in ice and snow sports,” she said.
During the show, Li expressed that as a new member of the CPPCC Beijing Committee, she began to perform her duty and learned a lot from the First Session of the 13th CPPCC Beijing Committee. In the next five years, she will work hard to give proposals on promoting citizens’ sense of happiness and gain.
Li said, “I am a CPPCC member in the sector of Communist Youth League and I am also engaged in sports work. So I hope that I can help call on more young people to make more contributions to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.”
