This is my second time in Beijing Chaoyang

我当时担任墨西哥驻华大使馆农业处公使
The first time I worked from 2014 to 2019, as the head of the department of agriculture of
Mexican Embassy
粮农组织是联合国系统内的一个专门技术机构
FAO is the technical agency in the UN system
我们在中国的主要任务是支持农业发展以及粮食安全保障
Our main task is to support China in the development of agriculture, and also food security
联合国粮农组织（FAO）设有“全球重要农业文化遗产（GIAHS）”项目
In FAO we have what is known as the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS)
中国已有四个（与茶相关的）遗产地系统成功入选“全球重要农业文化遗产（GIAHS）”项目
China has four sites (of tea) already declared as Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems
我是在初次来到中国后开始饮茶的
I started to drink tea, for the first time when I came to China
那时我才意识到茶有多么美妙
And I realized how fantastic is tea
茶的重要性体现在多个维度
Tea is very important in different aspects
首要的当然是其经济价值
One of them of course is the economic aspect
目前，全球茶叶产业年产值已达约170亿美元
Tea now represents an industry of around 17 billion dollars every year
但它深厚的文化价值同样不可忽略
but of course also has a cultural aspect
我们愿意继续支持北京市和朝阳区推广茶文化
we would like to continue supporting Chaoyang and the Beijing city in promoting tea
因为茶叶产业正有力地推动粮农组织实现农业粮食体系的转型
because tea is helping FAO to transform food and agricultural systems
所有联合国机构的中国总部/驻华办事处都设在朝阳区
All the UN agencies are based in Chaoyang
因此我们毗邻而居
So it’s always good that we are in a close distance to each other
这样便于我们相互之间以及与中国的实体机构和政府部门开展协作，共同助力粮农组织这样的机构推动中国的乡村发展
so we can cooperate and collaborate with each other
also with Chinese entities, ministries to support in the case of FAO to the rural development of China
我曾在这里生活过五年，在朝阳区度过了非常幸福的时光
Five years I lived here and had a very happy life in Chaoyang
我的女儿们都特别高兴能在朝阳区上学
My daughters were really really happy to be in Chaoyang and to go to the schools
她们的中文讲得非常流利
They are fluent in Chinese
这些国际学校非常棒，她们过得特别开心
The international schools are very good, they are very happy
十年来
In 10 years
我看到绿地更多了，城市更加井然有序，同时依然充满活力
I've seen many green areas, more organized, but as lively as before
亮马河的变化令人赞叹
The Liangma River is amazing
它焕然一新，特别棒，我非常喜欢
It looks totally different, super nice, I really like this
以及它提供的文化、餐饮等丰富资源
In terms of culture, restaurants, food
使它成为一个为居民提供极其丰富多彩生活的地方
It's a place that has too many things to offer to the people who live here
