Attendance of Beijing municipal political advisers will be checked more stringently at this year’s plenary session of Beijing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). For the first time, a supervision team is grouped to check on meeting attendance.
The team of three is said to be headed by a bureau-leveled cadre whose only job is to check and record the attendance of political advisers at all kinds of big or small discussions and meetings throughout the session.
Zong Peng, spokesman of the Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, introduced this first set team is aimed at improving advisers’ sense of obligation and standardizing their behaviors.
Enhancing on-duty management of political advisers has been always the work of Beijing Municipal Committee for recent years. From last year on, a political adviser shall present a written note to the secretariat of the Municipal Committee in case of a temporary off. In addition, name cards are put on desk in front of each adviser, making clear at one glance who is absent and who is making a statement.
