Hot discussions were raised because the independent web drama Taizifei Shengzhiji was removed offline due to unhealthy content in its episodes recently.

Zhang Yiwu, municipal legislator and professor of Beijing University, suggested the government should not only censor but also support the web dramas and films. None of the two should be missed. Foundations like Beijing Culture and Art Foundation can give preferential policies to help young people’s creative work.

Zhang Yiwu said China outshines others in affluence resources of web literatures. Many web dramas and films are really popular. They are of great contributions to cultural and economic transition. Nevertheless, both government and society have paid less heed to it. Censorship or support are double missed.

He hoped online literature works including web dramas can be censored according to the policy and given more support and room for a healthy development.
