No fireworks stores approved within Beijing 3rd Ring Road

Recently the licensing work of fireworks and firecrackers retail stores has been completed in Beijing, and a total of 511 stores have been approved, 208 less than the number in 2016 and that is a reduction of 28.9 percent year-on-year, according to Beijing Administration of Work Safety.

It is noteworthy that this year it is the first time no store is approved within the Third Ring Road area. There are 34 approved stores between the Third Ring Road and the Fourth Ring Road, a 60.9-percent drop compared with 87 of 2016, and 74 between the Fourth Ring Road and the Fifth Ring Road, a 22.9-percent reduction compared with 96 of 2016.

It is learned this year Beijing Administration of Work Safety has further strengthened the control on fireworks and firecrackers and tightened licensing.

Based on the functional orientation of the capital’s central areas, no fireworks and firecrackers retail store has been approved in Dongcheng and Xicheng districts to ensure security and the districts of Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai and Shijingshan have further reduced the number of the stores.
