Beijing to optimize 3rd Ring Road bus lane in 2017: gov’t

In 2017, Beijing will continue to study and implement plans to solve the overlapping problem of bus lanes and lanes for other automobiles on the Third Ring Road, said Rong Jun, member of Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport, at a press conference themed on constructing the harmonious and livable capital during the Fifth Session of the 14th Beijing Municipal People’s Congress on January 16, 2017.

He also introduced that in 2016 the ratio of green travel in Beijing has reached 71 percent and the total length of the city’s bus lanes has been extended to 845 km after the construction of the three bus lanes on the Third Ring Road, the Beijing-Tibet Expressway and Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway.
