Beijing will add 1,000 business outlets for the convenience of citizens in 2017, according to the commerce authorities at a press conference themed on constructing the harmonious and livable capital during the Fifth Session of the 14th Beijing Municipal People’s Congress on January 16, 2017.
Yan Ligang, director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce, expressed that they will continue to improve the city’s quality of life services and promote industries’ development of standardization, chaining and integration. He said in 2017, 1,000 convenience business outlets will be newly built in Beijing, including 200 vegetable retail stores, 200 convenience stores, 200 breakfast stores, 100 terminal delivery outlets and 300 for domestic services and beauty salons, and more than 50 percent of the outlets will be in the central six districts of Beijing.
He introduced that Beijing has gradually improved the convenience business outlet system in 2016, with 1,700 business outlets of convenience stores, vegetable retail stores and terminal delivery outlets newly built or upgraded and the chaining rate of the outlets up 5.2 percent.
