The automatic driving vehicles are expected to be piloted in Beijing’s public transport in 2022 at the earliest, reported Beijing Youth Daily on January 10, 2019.
They will be firstly applied in lines of the high-tech industrial parks and the sightseeing lines.
On January 9, 2019, Beijing Public Transport Group(BPTG) announced to introduce active safety pre-warning system and automatic driving program of Mobileye company.
The active safety pre-warning system can warn about the public transport drivers’ behaviors like illegally changing lanes and speeding.
A head of BPTG said, the active safety pre-warning system has been applied in some of lines in the suburbs so far.
It will be promoted gradually to more lines in the future.
