This year, “Regulations on intangible cultural heritages in Beijing” will be deliberated during the 2nd Session of the 15th Beijing Municipal People’s Congress. To help deputies to the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress better understand Beijing’s intangible cultural heritages and their protection work, Beijing municipal culture and tourism bureau first displayed the intangible cultural heritages and craftsmanship and the highlights and achievements of intangible cultural heritage protection work at the venue for the session.

At Beijing Conference Center, a variety of exhibits and craftsmanship of intangible cultural heritages like cloisonne, carved lacquerware and Lord Rabbit attracted the attention of deputies.

“The protection of intangible cultural heritages not only inherits techniques, but also inherits culture. After admiring the exhibited intangible cultural heritages, I am more deeply aware of the significance of introducing ‘Regulations on intangible cultural heritages in Beijing’. I will actively perform my duty to give suggestions on it,” said Teng Yajie, a deputy to the Beijing Municipal People's Congress.

An official from Beijing Cultural Heritage Protection Center introduced that the first attempt of displaying achievements of the intangible cultural heritage protection work during the two sessions can help promote traditional Chinese culture, and it can also be a good opportunity to invite deputies to give suggestions about the protection work.
